Why Coaching With Me is Different
Hi! I’m Katie, and am excited to work with you! My approach presumes not that you are broken, but rather due to being an empathic and unique being trying to live in a high stress world, you have become disconnected from the essence of the amazing person you truly are. My goal is to utilize my empathy and intuition to build YOUR gifts so you can align with and stay on your higher purpose path. This means teaching you how to clear your energy, identify and shift chakra blocks, develop a self-care routine to prevent compassion fatigue and teach you how to support yourself. While you are learning to do that, I support you in raising the vibrations in your life. What we put out into the universe is what we attract back in, so we want to be sure you are operating in a steady stream of compassion and abundance.
My background and formal training as a Licensed Psychotherapist has been primarily in systems and relational work. What does this mean for you? It means you get YEARS of experience with evidenced-based practices (a fancy, schmancy way of saying "scientifically proven") and techniques in a personalized and targeted package. I help resolve ambivalence blocking you from meeting your goals, build motivation, and challenge and break negative thought and behavior patterns that limit your growth. I also incorporate a holistic mindfulness practice to foster an emotional state of balance and bliss. I am a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, having received my training from wonderful and gifted women who cultivated a sacred space of healing that I am now honored to create for you. We will utilize yogic theories and techniques to dramatically shift your mind-body connection.
While I will always be grateful for my years training in traditional psychotherapy, I quickly realized these tools alone were just not enough. The mind and emotions do not exist in a bubble. Spirituality, intuition, the physical body and the power of the Self are still considered "new age" subjects in the mental health world, but are an integral part of healing our mind and heart. I made it my mission to fill in the missing pieces and trust the inner voice telling me to learn more. I trained in understanding and clearing the energy field through IET: Integrated Energy Therapy®. I learned everything I could about my own energy and what it meant to be an empath. I discovered that being naturally more sensitive to the emotions of others could open me up to higher rates of fatigue, physical ailments (hello random autoimmune disorders and food allergies!), emotional burn out, anxiety, depression and a higher susceptibility to unhealthy relationships. After completing the Spirit Junkie Digital Masterclass with one of the top thought-leaders in the industry, Gabrielle Bernstein, I studied intuition and the energy systems through the works of experts such as Sonia Choquette and Deepak Chopra. I continue to study energy modalities such as Reiki, tapping (EFT: Emotional Freedom Technique) as well as Celtic, Ayurvedic and Buddhist wisdom and texts to weave together a multi-faceted healing style. When I don’t have my nose in a book, you can find me enjoying a nice glass of wine, spending time with my husband and our three fur babies, practicing yoga or dreaming of the animal sanctuary I hope to open some day. I mean, I feel like snow dogs, lions and elephants can all live in harmony, can’t they?
